Specialist, Business Systems Engineer
Job Description

Our Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of supply through supply planning, sourcing, making, inventory management, packaging and delivery. We partner across the Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing organizations to build a robust demand and supply plan and ensure we get products to the right customer, at the place, at the right time.
The Business Systems Engineer is a member of the Supply Chain Management team. In this role, the successful candidate will be accountable for the efficient and accurate construction and translation of production process data into several electronic systems. Key skills for this position include understanding of the manufacturing process along with ERP software aptitude. This individual ensures correctness, suitability, and accuracy of system data parameters. Additionally, the successful candidate will communicate with global and site personnel on ERP system changes, process documentation, training, and delivery of local, end-user system training. This position will require a “hands-on” approach and understanding of the day-to-day operational practices within a pharmaceutical production facility. Other responsibilities of the position include:
Gather, analyze, and report process performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement
Represent and support the plant site with internal and external audits
Assume accountability for process performance – specifically the suitability and efficiency of operational electronic system structure and data (manufacturing bills of material, recipes, etc.)
Coordinate and improve efficiency of data change request workflows between operations groups and site master data team
Extract various reports of business system data
Collaborate with other site Process Stewards and regional/global stewards to ensure process standardization, local site compliance and alignment with changing requirements
Engage vertically and horizontally to ensure integrated end-to-end processes across all value streams
Work closely with both site and above-site master data teams to ensure suitability of data structure as well as data accuracy
Ensure consistent application of operational data decisions and standards
Develop and improve production data collection processes
Develop processes to improve data quality
Apply GMP principles and ensure Data Integrity practices within the handling of enterprise data
Analyze and improve production bill of material and product recipe quality
Assist with site inventory strategy development and floor-level implementation to improve inventory accountability and accuracy
Troubleshoot ERP transactional errors while continuously working to raise the SAP acumen of site personnel
Responsible for SAP role provisioning and compliance
Own site product structure change control tasks and drive to deadline completion
Other duties as required
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Business
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum three (3) years of experience working in a regulated environment
Minimum two (2) years of experience working in SAP
Analytical thinker with strong oral and written communication/presentation skills
Able to effectively utilize data analysis and visualization tools to quantitatively assess current production and business systems
High personal integrity, credibility, and energy
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience leading project teams focused on business value creation
Ability to understand the manufacturing process and how it informs the representative data used in the reflective ERP system
2+ years of experience supporting technical manufacturing in an Engineering, Operations, or similar role
Ability to integrate ERP data knowledge with a holistic understanding of manufacturing operations.
Experience working in PLM systems.
