Job Description

The Department of PCD Regulated Bioanalytics, PK & ADA Bioanalysis is seeking an experienced bioanalytical scientist to join our Regulated LC-MS Method Development group located in West Point, PA. Demonstrated expertise in the field of the bioanalysis of small molecules and biotherapeutics via liquid chromatography/mass spectrometric (LC-MS) methods in support of regulated drug development studies is required. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for developing bioanalytical methods for the quantitation of drug candidates in biological matrices to support Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and clinical studies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop regulated bioanalytical methods for the quantitation of small molecule and biotherapeutic drug candidates using LC-MS based platforms including triple quadrupole (QQQ) and high resolution (HRMS) mass spectrometers.

  • Independently manage bioanalytical deliverables for assigned program(s) and drive the science on a day-to-day basis with broad project goals.

  • Be a champion of innovation with a keen eye on the latest developments in the field of mass spectrometry of biotherapeutics.,

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related discipline with a minimum 4 years relevant experience.

  • Master’s Degree with a minimum 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor’s with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Advanced experience in bioanalytical quantitation by LC-MS including analysis of peptides and large molecules.

  • Extensive experience in biochemical techniques for sample preparation.

  • Extensive experience in LC-MS instrumentation and trouble shooting.

  • Track record in developing chromatographic assays for pre-clinical and/or clinical applications.

  • In-depth understanding of the drug development process.

  • Ability to lead the development of new, innovative bioanalytical approaches and experimental designs.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven record of scientific publications and presentations at scientific meetings.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in Ligand Binding Assay-based bioanalytical method development and validation in addition to mass spectrometric methods will be consider a plus.

  • Experience with liquid handlers and other automation platforms for sample preparation and assay process.

  • Proficiency in various bioinformatics tools such as Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, MaxQuant, and database search engines.

  • Knowledge of the basic principles of regulated bioanalysis and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
