Position Summary

The position of Associate QC Chemist is responsible for performing simple analytical analysis of raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, finished goods, and cleaning samples, and general laboratory support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

(Detailed Description)

  • Performs routine and non-routine analysis for raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, and finish goods including, but not limited to identification testing, refractive index, density, viscosity, water activity, pH, appearance, taste, and smell testing.

  • Conducts pharmaceutical water testing including but not limited to nitrate testing, total organic carbon (TOC), and conductivity.

  • Responsible for analytical analysis of cleaning validation and surveillance samples.

  • Prepares solutions used for routine and non-routine analyses, such as buffers and diluents.

  • Manages sample coordination prior to and following testing activities.

  • Responsible for ordering and stocking supplies.

  • Performs laboratory maintenance activities including but not limited to equipment preventative maintenance, calibration, disposal of waste, and cleaning laboratory areas.

  • Performs other activities as needed.

Education & Special Trainings

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or other related technical field.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills (English).

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must possess appropriate manual dexterity for laboratory operations.

  • Must be able to determine color variations on/in solid and liquid substrates.

  • The ability to work with hot liquids and common laboratory chemicals.

Mental Requirements

  • Must be capable of conducting common laboratory mathematical calculations.

  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
