About the Opportunity

This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

This Administrative Technician position works in the Ohio Rates and Regulatory Affairs group reporting to the Director – Rates & Regulatory Affairs. The preferred reporting location is the Akron General Office. Currently the group is working remotely, subject to changes in Company protocols. Other reporting locations within the FirstEnergy service territory of OH, PA, WV, MD, and NJ may be considered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining tariffs of the three Ohio utilities using advanced features of Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional software
  • Maintaining tariff archive and work with Communications to ensure FirstEnergy website is up-to-date with the current tariffs
  • Preparing tariff/rider filings and other filings for submittal with Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (e-filing submissions)
  • Leading the SharePoint discovery and data response management process working with various departments throughout FirstEnergy
  • Maintaining calendar of filing and discovery due dates and ensure OH Rates team is on track to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Supporting analysts in group on regulatory audits of riders
  • Working with analysts on customer billing questions and customer complaints
  • Creating and maintaining SharePoint sites for the OH Rates Team
  • When applicable, providing on-site support in Columbus for the regulatory proceedings and hearings to Rates, Legal, outside counsel, and witnesses
  • Supporting the department's administrative needs including coordinating and scheduling meetings, processing payment of various invoices, arranging travel accommodations, sending various mailings, ordering supplies, etc.
  • Interacting and working closely with the Legal Department on filings of various reports and case management

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate or bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Minimum 2 - 7 years’ work experience is required. Related work experience includes prior administrative experience, customer service experience, knowledge of electric tariffs, and/or paralegal experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat. SharePoint experience is a plus.
  • Pass the Edison Electric Institute's Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test
  • Deliver quality, accurate work with ability to prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines
