We are looking for a Clinical Administrative Coordinator as an addition to the UHC Spectrum team to support Patient Outreach and Physician Engagement for Patient Care coordination. You will work alongside our Spectrum Clinical Team’s Care Coordinator and Clinical Pharmacist to improve the health outcomes of the patients we serve. The Clinical Administrative Coordinator is responsible for research and outreach pertaining to High- Risk patients, assisting the Clinical Pharmacist with administrative tasks, and communicating with Physician offices regarding patient medical history and current needs.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with a Clinical team of a Clinical Pharmacist and Care Coordinator to support patient and provider engagement for Care Transitions, Medication Therapy Management, Referral Management, High Risk Member management, and other projects as they develop
  • Research patient related health information to identify patient eligibility for Comprehensive Medication Review by utilizing multiple technology systems and Prep patient charts for eligible participants
  • Engage members telephonically to schedule appointment or warm transfer to Clinical Pharmacist for Comprehensive Medication Review or Medication Reconciliation
  • Communicate with Primary Care offices to discuss member details, including appointment completion, medication, referrals, and patient demographic information
  • Accurately track and document Comprehensive Medication Review and Medication Reconciliation interactions with patients and facilitate exchange of clinical information with Physician offices to ensure identified medical needs and concerns are received and addressed by Physician offices
  • Work closely with Care Coordinator and Pharmacist to help ensure that patients have comprehensive and coordinated care by communicating relevant clinical information gathered during calls to patient that may affect the patient’s disease state or medication regimen
  • Build rapport and establish trusted relationships with members via daily outbound and inbound calls

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of Prior Medical / Healthcare experience in a hospital OR physician's office providing clinical OR administrative assistance
  • 2+ years of experience in working with medical terminology
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Word (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents), Microsoft Excel (filter, sort, and data entry in spreadsheets), Microsoft PowerPoint (ability to create, edit, save, and send presentations), and Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, edit, save, and send correspondence)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to local office(s) to accommodate business needs
  • Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Pharmacy Tech in the insurance industry OR Medical Assistant
  • Managed Care experience
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate business needs

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within an hour from Atlanta, GA
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
