Job Summary

Amentum is searching for the right candidate to support our team as an executive level Administrative Support Specialist for the Officer-in-Charge of the COLUMBIA (CLB) Class submarine Training Systems Implementation Team (TSIT).

The CLB TSIT has evolved from prior TSIT concepts for the TRIDENT, SEAWOLF, and VIRGINIA Class submarines. The CLB TSIT will apply fleet/training expertise and lessons learned to directly support PMS 397 and the Submarine Learning Center (SLC) in the review, validation, and verification of logistics products including logistics technical data and training.

Duties and responsibilities specific to this tasking include executive-level administrative support for the active-duty Officer-in-Charge and appointed Amentum on-site supervisor. Specific requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Day-to-day secretarial functions
  • Prepare, proofread and distribute letters, reports, briefings, proposals and other correspondence; Prepare special or on-time reports, summaries, analyses, or replies to inquiries under general direction
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls; Respond to routine and non-routine inquiries as appropriate
  • Schedule appointments, make travel plans, arrange meetings, and prepare required materials; May attend meetings and record and report on proceedings
  • Organize and maintain departmental files; Open, review and distribute incoming mail; Prepare and ship outgoing mail
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

When ready in early 2022, your work location will be aboard the U.S. Submarine Base, New London, Groton, CT in building 499 Bledsoe Hall, 2nd Deck. Work accommodations will be provided either at the local Amentum Office or at the Submarine On Board Training (SOBT) office in building 519 Darby Hall, 2nd Deck.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in related field and 3 years of job-related experience, or equivalent
  • Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
