Job Summary

Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement the construction portion of the assigned project through day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities.
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.
  • Act as a customer contact for all construction project field activities.
  • Ensure all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.
  • Under limited direction, has responsibility for all construction activities on a project.
  • Report to the Construction Manager and is thoroughly knowledgeable and fully accountable with considerable latitude in decision making.
  • Interpret, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Function as a Project Manager on a direct-hire construction-only project or as the field manager on an engineering/ procurement/construction management project.
  • Under general direction, responsible for managing very large and/or complex construction projects.
  • Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard construction techniques.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on unusually complicated projects.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Requirements

High school diploma and 8 years' experience in field construction supervision or demonstrated equivalent. Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Must have a valid driver’s license. Position may require travel.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Outdoor environment with exposure to weather; walking on uneven ground; lifting; carrying; griping; constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills; must use required personal protective equipment; and must be able to work under deadlines.
