Job Description
Our Engineers support internal and external manufacturing operations remain operational, continuously improve and innovate. With our extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities and Validation.
Summary, Focus and Purpose
Under the supervision of the Maintenance and Utilities Supervisor and direction of the maintenance Team Leader, the Electricians assemble, install, tests, and maintain electrical equipment. Electricians will conduct maintenance on any equipment or facilities which their skills support in a compliant quality manner. Electricians are part of the I/E Technician work group and will primarily share work assignments within their job grouping with no inherent or “system imposed” limits.
Based on business needs, I/E Technicians will complete maintenance activities including crossing between job groupings where skills are common. Work assignments, buildings, and equipment are not exclusive to any craft, job grouping, or employee. Position may include some responsibility for maintaining significant business systems (e.g., CMMS data, planning, procurement, and scheduling) including the authority to assign, coordinate, and maintain work for others.

General tools common to the electrical trade, such as small hand tools, pipe cutting, threading and bending tools, pole line tools, soldering equipment and testing apparatus | Person lifts or the operation of a bucket truck
Key Functions
Working from drawings, blueprints, schematics, CMMS driven work orders, or other instruction | Reference manufacturer’s equipment manuals
Assembles, installs, disconnects, and tests electrical equipment, motors, generators, control equipment and electronic components
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs conduit (EMT, IMC, Rigid, PVC coated, Aluminum, PVC, Flex Conduit, etc.) to various outlets, equipment and panels
Installs, maintains, tests, and repairs: lights, lighting controls, alarms, public address, power distribution systems and data processing systems, etc.
Performs any kind of necessary electrical construction work
Troubleshoots, locates and remedies trouble on any circuit by conducting electrical testing procedures | Completes load surveys and necessary test | Takes appropriate corrective actions
Maintains and services all electrical equipment
May work on energized, equipment (when necessary) using OSHA approved safety equipment and guidelines
Works with voltage and current of any level, AC or DC
Completes all work with guidelines of Company and NEC
Develops and performs on job modifications of electrical equipment
Estimate and layout jobs and list bill of materials for job, order
Attend and actively participates in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, Kaizen events, or any other operations, lean six-sigma, quality, safety or environmental training/initiatives
Prepares and assists technicians, supervisors and planners in preparing labor and material estimates
Assists supervision with the assigning, scheduling and prioritization of work order requests using maintenance management systems
Makes recommendations and prepares orders for spare parts, additional stock room items, tools, etc.
Consults with Supervision and other mechanics on problem resolution/troubleshooting. Keeps Supervision informed of problem issues
Write, execute, and complete safety permits
Annual field verification for EL qualifications
Education
Required | High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) and Graduation from a recognized/accredited electrician trade school, community college, or equivalent programs with at least 576 classroom hours or Completion of a formal electrician apprentice program that is approved by the United States Department of Labor or equivalent or Verified Military training equivalent to a recognized/accredited trade school program or journeyman apprenticeship program

Required
Three years of recent full-time experience in the last seven years as an electrician with heavy industrial applications, verified or Completion of four years of on-the-job part training as part of a formal electrician apprentice program or Three years recent (within the last seven years) full-time military experience as an electrician
Read blueprints, drawings, schematics, line diagrams, etc.
Analyze electrical maintenance problems, troubleshoot, and take appropriate corrective measure
Preferred
Extensive experience with automatic and automated packaging equipment in the drug or food processing industries
