We are seeking an Industrial Mechanical Plumbing Maintenance Technician team member for our client site in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will have outstanding industrial maintenance, mechanical, and plumbing skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best in class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction.

This is primarily a 1st shift position that supports a 24/7 operation; scheduled work hours may vary based on critical business demand.

As the Industrial Mechanical Plumbing Maintenance Technician, your daily duties for this role will include:

  • Responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on the industrial or commercial related to general facilities and equipment to include but not limited to plumbing and mechanical equipment, motors, pumps, piping, drains, heat exchangers, valves and other equipment as directed.
  • Repairing maintenance and mechanical building systems including but not limited to Chilled water, Reheat, Potable and Non-potable, Hot water distribution and specific components, Distilled water & reverse Osmosis systems, lab Gas systems, High & Low Vacuum systems, Instrument air Compressors and dryers, waste discharge systems consisting of effluent, Lab Waste, storm and sewage.
  • Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Perform periodic maintenance on backflow preventers, eyewash/safety showers, and water filtration systems

As the Industrial Mechanical Plumbing Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to:

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, plumbing, steam and hot water, pumps, compressors, and air dryers.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain site specific security access including all applicable background checks.
  • Ability to work overtime when required, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
  • Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Some physical/special requirements include:

  • Regularly lift to 50 lbs
  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
  • Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement
  • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
  • Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Pfizer Site Requirement:

All employees and contractors working at a Pfizer site must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 by November 15, 2021 unless there is an approved medical or religious exemption. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as receiving the full dose therapy of an EUA approved covid-19 vaccine and being 14 days post the completion of the required dose regimen.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Instrument Controls Technology
  • Connecticut P1 Plumbing license
  • Experience utilizing a CMMS
