Eaton’s Vehicle Group Division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician – Night Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Kings Mountain, NC facility.

Position Overview:

The driving focus of the Maintenance Technician will be to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant manufacturing equipment in accordance with safety, preventive, and predictive maintenance systems and processes. This includes continuously improving plant equipment availability to help achieve the plant’s business goals and objectives. The Maintenance Technician will work as a member of the Maintenance Team and will partner with Engineering and other plant functions to implement safety, quality, efficiency and capital projects.

In this function you will:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain production machines and equipment including PLC, drive systems; NC/CNC equipment; and Fanuc robots and controls
  • Read and interpret ladder logic, electric/electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, mechanical blueprints; equipment manuals; and work orders. Use these to take action to perform required maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment and sub-systems.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with plant safety guidelines, Life Saving Rules, and housekeeping and 5S+ standards.
  • Work a reasonable amount of overtime, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years electrical/automation and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to read and understand electric/electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints in support of rebuild/repair of equipment.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency with Windows-based software
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Siemens/Fanuc NC systems and Allen Bradley PLC a plus.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance such as infrared, ultrasound technologies a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD a plus.
  • Professional presence, good communication skills, etc.

Position Criteria:

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb.
