Job Summary

Surety -

This position is designated as an unescorted access position and is subject to the requirements of the Unescorted Access Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the PCD Commander.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / TASKS -

· Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

· Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

· Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

· Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring proficiency in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and insulating. Work involves using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes.

· Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on plant facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, vehicle maintenance, moving of furniture and equipment, facility and grounds maintenance and upkeep.

· Must be able to read and interpret designs, drawings, layouts and specifications in the performance of duties to ensure system integrity is maintained.

· Perform duties in the installation, repair and maintenance equipment and piping as needed.

· Perform emergency repairs to systems, equipment and components. Record the as-found condition as well as the repaired condition, investigating operational reports of equipment failure and analyze system characteristics to determine cause of failure and necessary corrective action.

· Interpret designs, drawings, and O & M manuals in locating and diagnosing trouble in mechanical/electrical equipment, components, and systems.

· Replace worn, damaged, or failed equipment and components in support of facility operations.

· Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measurement and test equipment in the performance of duties.

· Demonstrate and conduct any required inspection and testing of equipment and components as necessary to complete work packages and ensure systems are returned to operational conditions.

· Follow predetermined checklist in performance of preventative maintenance of facility mechanical/electrical equipment and systems.

· Utilize designs and drawings to plan and layout installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance and ensure all applicable site specifications and industry standards are adequately satisfied.

· Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Compensation & Benefits

STARTING RATE: $20.90

This position includes participation in the PCAPP Employee Retention Incentive Benefit Plan, which provides a financial incentive encouraging personnel to remain employed by Amentum at the PCAPP project through a specified timeframe provided qualifiers are met.


Minimum Requirements

REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

· High school diploma/equivalent and 5 years experience in an operating demilitarization, chemical, power, processing, industrial service, or manufacturing plant in one or more of the following trades: painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, and insulating.

  • Must be a US Citizen or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain PCAPP site access.
  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an industrial environment that is in close proximity to and/or in a chemical demilitarization facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have a thorough understanding of equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Be detail oriented and able to exercise good judgment in problem solving.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings requiring proficiency in such trandes as painting, carpentry, plumbing and masonry.
  • Able to operate general landscape equipment and perform repairs to landscape on PCAPP property.
  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on plant facitlites, including moving of furniture and equipments, facility and grounds maintenance.
  • Utilize a variety of handtools, power tools, measurement and test equipment in the performance of duties.
