Industrial Mechanical Plumbing Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
Amentum is seeking an advanced level industrial Mechanical Plumbing Maintenance Technician to join our pharmaceutical maintenance team in Groton, CT!
- This is primarily a 1st shift position that supports a 24/7 operation; scheduled work hours may vary based on critical business demand.
As the Mechanical Plumbing Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for daily support activities, including:
- Responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on the industrial or commercial related to general facilities and utilities systems and equipment to include but not limited to plumbing and mechanical equipment, motors, pumps, piping, drains, fans, cranes, heat exchangers, valves and other equipment as directed.
- Repairing flooring (tile, carpet, etc.), artificial ceilings, lighting, and some plumbing.
- Repairing maintenance and mechanical building systems.
- Utilizing the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.
- Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- 6 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, plumbing, steam and hot water boilers, air handling units, pumps, compressors, air dryers, and exhaust systems.
- Connecticut P1 Plumbing license.
- Ability to obtain site specific security access including all applicable background checks.
- Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
- This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
Some physical requirements include:
- Regularly lift to 50 lbs
- Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
- Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement
- Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
- Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
- Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding
Special Requirements: Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- F2 Journeyman Fire Protection license.
- Experience in a large research and development facility.
- Experience with a CMMS (Computerized maintenance management system).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office software (i.e., Excel, Word, and Power Point).
- Connecticut journey level plumber license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
