Job Description

New hires in office-based roles in the US & Puerto Rico will be required, subject to applicable law, to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption to this vaccination requirement that can be accommodated without an undue burden to the operation. In April 2020, our Company announced plans to consolidate our New Jersey campuses into a single New Jersey headquarters location in Rahway, NJ by 2023. Therefore, this role will be temporarily based in a and exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.

The Contracting and Distribution Strategies team in U.S. Vaccines is seeking a Customer Manager who will be responsible for managing our U.S. vaccine pricing commercial program, Vaccine Integrated Health System Commitment (VIC), which impacts a significant amount of business with some of our largest customers in the provider customer segment, in addition to responding to customer contract RFPs and evolving the Financial Modeling capabilities to inform vaccine contracting and pricing across the private sector.

Customer managers play a key role in developing commercial strategies aligned with vaccine brand strategies, healthcare market trends, field sales execution priorities and customer capabilities. The Customer Manager role collaborates with Commercial Legal, Brand Marketing, Portfolio Marketing, Global Market Access & Pricing, Customer Contract Management, Information Technology (IT), and Finance to ensure that commercial programs meet our company's business objectives and requirements.

The Customer Manager serves as a subject matter expert and a key source of information concerning national customer segments and commercial strategies relevant to vaccines contracting, and responds to queries regarding sales potential, market trends, customer needs, competitive environment and optimal customer marketing and contracting strategies. Assignment will provide the Incumbent with the opportunity to develop strategic thinking skills through the development of innovative initiatives that support customer and business needs related to vaccine products and help to shape the US commercial landscape.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Preparing for and responding to future competitive and company launches

  • Planning and executing the evolution of the VIC contract

  • Responding to customer contract RFPs

  • Leading financial and operational work to expand Financial Modeling and evolve the vaccine contracting value tool in an effort to make it turn-key to include, assumptions for inputs, scenario planning

  • Working with sales teams and customers to ensure appropriate compliance with the terms and conditions of our portfolio offers and creating tactics to support account management and execution activities

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Required

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years combined field sales, product marketing and/or commercial operations related experience

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Demonstrated financial modeling experience and business acumen

  • Demonstrated and effective leadership skills, collaboration skills, negotiation skills, problem solving skills and communication skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Multiple headquarters and field sales positions, resulting in increasing level of responsibility and breadth of experience

  • Experience in developing, managing or implementing contracts/ pricing programs and/or service agreements for vaccines or other buy-and-bill products

  • Experience in account management and/or marketing positions

  • Deep understanding of health care market trends impacting providers (e.g. pricing, consolidation, affordability and access, etc.)

  • Understands policy landscape

  • Strong ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses; Demonstrated ability to think strategically, be innovative, and perform comprehensive analyses and monitor performance of targeted market segments, including assessment of market trends, customer needs and competitor positioning
