About the Role: The Staff Manager-Service Architecture is a senior technical expert, consultant, and leader with a primary focus on the planning and design of a service provider network delivering a suite of converged services with a focus on VoIP and Security, leading a team of Architects focused in these same areas. Duties and focus will include VoIP and security technology evaluation, strategy, architecture, and project leadership. The role will oversee a number of VoIP and Security Architects with responsibility for designing networks, solutions, and infrastructure to support the ongoing needs of the business and its customers. What You’ll Do: - Lead and mentor a team of Network Architects working on voice and security technology introduction into the network including certification testing; technical aspects of product development; creation and communication of designs, documentation, and training - Work directly with Engineering and Marketing organizations, and directly and indirectly with Operations and Service Delivery organizations, to understand network and product needs and requirements - Internally communicate solutions to other organizations - Work with vendors and industry organizations to understand the changing technology landscape - Develop new and enhancing existing processes to aid in all of the above - You will report to the Senior Director of Infrastructure Architecture Do You Have? - 3+ years experience in a Network Engineering role for an Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) - 3+ years experience with VoIP Network Design - Thorough understanding of Layer2/3 VPN's, MPLS, Metro Ethernet and LAN switching experience - Expert understanding of SIP signaling protocols, STIR/SHAKEN, and RTP, SRTP media transmissions - Expert understanding of TCP/IP and IP routing fundamentals - Strong grasp of traditional telephony concepts including time-division-multiplexing, SS7 signaling, Class IV/V switching, AIN, and TCAP database services - Strong grasp of security concepts including firewalls, TLS, IPSec, SSL and SSL VPNs, Multi-Factor Authentication, Distributed Denial of Service Mitigation - Solid understanding of Linux and Solaris operating systems and ability to perform shell scripting - Experience with virtualization and hypervisors (VMware, OpenStack, KVM) - Hands on experience with one or more of the following platforms: Metaswitch CFS and Perimeta, Ribbon/Sonus (EMS, PSX, SBC), Microsoft Teams (Direct Routing, Operator Connect) Even Better: - Previous leadership experience - Certifications or training directly related to the position, such as - Metaswitch Certified Technician (MCT) - Cisco CCNP/CCDP/CCIE-Voice - Fortinet NSE4 or higher - Juniper JNCIE - Experience implementing troubleshooting Next-Generation Firewall, Secure Remote Access (IPSec/SSL) solutions, Cloud Security solutions such as CASB or ZTNA - 3+ Years experience in a Network Engineering role for a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) - 3+ years experience with Security Service Design Our Benefits: - Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance Plans - 401K Plan - Health & Flexible Savings Account - Life and AD&D, Spousal Life, Child Life Insurance Plans - Educational Assistance Plan - Identity Theft, Legal, Auto & Home and Pet Insurance - https://windstreambenefits.com About US: Windstream Holdings, is a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions for consumers, small businesses, enterprise organizations and carrier partners across the U.S. IND123
