What you’ll be doing...

We are constantly innovating to unleash the power of our network and technology and you can ensure we stay at the forefront, providing an unequalled customer experience. You will be a key member of the team focused on the technology evolution of services provided to Verizon customers.

  • Collaborating with team members for development of solutions addressing our customer's needs with ability to develop centered onNaaS and SASE capabilities.
  • Utilize virtualized resources when applicable for the development of such solutions:
    • Defining their topology within an orchestrated environment.
    • Modelling the scale and capabilities for these elements within such environments.
    • Defining test requirements to facilitate certification.
  • Definition of the expected management requirements for these solutions and applications leading to the identification of requirements for Automation, IT and management networks.

In this hybrid role, you will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You are an experienced candidate who is adept at negotiating and communicating with leaders and executives at all levels of the organization. You are able to develop crisp and detailed presentation material which communicate your high level proposals while also having the writing and technical skills to define design parameters within structured documents to be shared with Operations, Implementation, Lab, and Engineering teams. You look for areas for improvement, seek consensus for priority and then diligently pursue and 'sell' the solution to stakeholders.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Engineering, Computer science engineering or any other business management field.
  • Experience in building data networks including hands on with routers and/or firewalls to include device configuration using NetConf configuration protocol and use of standard YANG data models.
  • Working with network vendors such as Cisco, Nokia, or Juniper and configuration of their switches and routers. Also with firewalls providers such as Palo Alto or with load balancers.
  • Capabilities with OpenStack and CLI commands and administration, Linux/Unix scripting, data modeling protocols.
  • Some experience working with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins or with Python, Java scripting, SOAP, Ruby and PHP programming, API development experience based on JSON and XML.
  • An understanding of wireless services delivered with LTE, IMS, 5G.
  • Ability to establish virtualization or containerization within a server cluster to host network functions.
  • Understanding of L2, L3VPN and Internet customer solutions commonly delivered by data networks; Understand SD-WAN when deployed on such networks.
  • People know you for your ability to analyze problem areas and to provide viable solutions. This helps you to work well with partners from non-technical teams and helps build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you manage competing priorities with ease, and never lose your laser-sharp focus on meeting tight deadlines.
