Summary

Strive for satisfactory customer service by performing such duties as: cable maintenance, installation, removal, rearrangement and maintenance of single line and associated apparatus equipment, up to and including cross connection to the switching equipment; single & multi channel subscriber carrier systems; performs other related duties.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

A. PERSONAL CONTACTS:

Interdepartmental Moderate
Intradepartmental - Frequent
Customer - Frequent
Vendor Seldom

B. DRIVING: Frequent

C. TRAVEL RELATED: Moderate - Normally Within District

D. Climbing poles and ladders; lifting 50-75 pounds on a regular basis; pushing, reaching, bending and stooping; manual dexterity; good sense of balance; and good color vision.

E. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Cable Locator
Tones
Bucket Truck or Van
Amptool
Numerous other tools
Associated Test Equipment
Drop Plows

F. May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.

Qualifications

A. Tests - Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy.

B. Previous electronics training and/or related outside work experience typically gained through such positions as Station Installer Maintainer, Installer-Maintainer, or Cable Splicer

C. Ability to work independently

D. Ability and desire to work face-to-face with customer

E. Willingness to work out-of-doors in adverse weather conditions

F. Ability to work with hand tools as listed
