Eaton’s Engineering Service & Systems division is currently seeking a Senior Field Service Technician based in Nashville, TN, and will service the clients within the state of TN with up to 100% travel required - company vehicle provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $73,500 - $107,800 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment; self-manage assigned projects for electrical equipment; knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment; deliver technical solutions to customers; performs less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems
  • Must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. This is a remote position with 100% travel within the Middle Tennessee region. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the location(s) listed, will be considered. Active Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifcations:

  • Associates degree and/or military experience
  • Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems
  • Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis
  • Experience with protective relays

Skilled proficiency in the following:

  • Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Equipment
  • Advanced Test Equipment Operation; Troubleshooting Techniques; Intermediate Test Equipment Operation
  • Basic Protective Relays
  • Basic PQ Measurements
  • Understanding of the company's and competitor's electrical, electronic and mechanical products and services.
  • Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to run small outages and projects
  • Graduated Field Service Certification Level III
  • Incumbent may be required to perform the following tasks but not limited on a Frequent: Occasional or Seldom Basis: repetitive lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, driving extended distances. Incumbent may perform electrical engineering and service work (i.e. physical and mental activities) on equipment ranging from 5V DC (logic devices, zone interlocking signals, etc.) up to 750KV. They may also be required to work in extreme weather and temperature conditions from high heat and high humidity to subzero cold. Incumbent may also work at sites with areas that have poor lighting, ventilation, and dust. They may also be exposed to high noise levels.
  • Submit to periodic customer required background and drug test screenings.
