Leidos’ SDA Operation, in conjunction with the TSA, also performs on-call, onsite installation servicing of X- Ray Detection Equipment using leading edge technology to ensure the safety of our clients, customer and passengers.

Under general supervision, performs field service activities by installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and servicing x-ray and CT based security systems at customer sites. Typically handles routine products and/or problems able to perform these tasks without supervision, getting direction from higher-level technicians on more complex problems. Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below.

Primary Responsibilities

Provides support to regional customers by installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining x-ray and CT based security systems using built-in diagnostics and external test equipment. Responds to customer complaints and questions. Sets up and utilizes specialized test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions. Installs, repairs, and documents maintenance of equipment and other products. Replaces defective units/components as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1 – 3 years of prior relevant experience.Excellent customer interface and communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Applications: Windows and MS Office. Willingness to work non-standard hours including weekends and holidays. Must be team player with ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Must be available to travel on short notice, non-standard hours, travel on weekends, and assist other field sites as required. Must be capable of lifting 75 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge of electronic and mechanical assemblies as well as wiring diagrams and schematics. Technician must reside in either St. Thomas or St. Croix.
