Eatons Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is hiring a Field Service Representative to join our team. This position will be based out of our Ottawa, ON service facility.Position Overview:The primary purpose of this position is to provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification on power transmission, distribution and generation equipment and systems.In this function you will:+ Provide field service engineering, technical assistance, scheduling and sales support direction to Field Service Representatives and customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment;+ Responsible to self-manage assigned projects for electrical equipment; knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment.+ Deliver technical solutions to customers.+ Performs less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations.+ Mentor less experienced technicians.+ Provide technical training.+ Perform all job functions with adherence to Eatons Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.+ Skilled proficiency in the following:+ Advanced Troubleshooting Technique+ Advanced Test Equipment Operation+ Basic Protective Relays+ Basic PQ MeasurementsWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger.QualificationsBasic (Required) Qualifications:+ Post-secondary degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology/Technician/CET from an accredited institution OR a valid journeyman certificate of qualification in the trade of industrial, construction or commerical electrical required+ Minimum of one (1) year of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems.+ Must live within 80 km of the Ottawa, CA facility.+ Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:+ Experience in performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis preferred.+ Experience in protective relays preferred.Position Criteria:+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.+ Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills.+ Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications.+ Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills.+ Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.+ Understanding of the companys and competitors electrical, electronic and mechanical products.+ Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.+ Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.+ Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.+ Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted drivers license.Please be advised that as part of this position, you will be subject to Eatons Drug and Alcohol Policy, a copy of which is available for your review.
