What you’ll be doing...

Risk Management & Compliance (RM&C) is responsible for overseeing Verizon policies, processes, people and systems, and partnering with leaders to identify and mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory, and reputational and information security risks. The Financial Services Product Risk Management Consultant will be a subject matter expert for Consumer Financial Services product stakeholders and partners.

  • Support end-to-end Financial Services Product Risk Management and Compliance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with existing policies, federal and state laws and regulations, and assisting in formulation of solutions to any identified problem areas exposing company to risk.
  • Support the analysis of financial services products, assess product health and develop control recommendations to address gaps.
  • Strengthen the control environment, collaborate with partners, and build new capabilities for evolving needs.
  • Perform risk analyses to proactively identify and remediate risk areas.
  • Ensure adequate Compliance monitoring is in place.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key internal customers, including RM&C, Information Technology, Privacy, Legal, Information Security, Customer Experience, and Product teams.
  • Monitor improvement process and communicate timely and accurate information regarding findings and improvement recommendations to senior management.
  • Provide knowledge-based leadership in driving the automation of manual and system controls to improve financial performance; the repair of controls that are not functioning as intended; and the enhancement of the control environment, where necessary to address current and developing threats.
  • Use data results, statistical analysis and other techniques to assess the effectiveness of system controls, and perform testing as needed to identify root-cause issues and formulate improvement recommendations for senior management.
  • Handle multiple projects concurrently, leveraging organization and time-management skills.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience handling banking and/or consumer financial products and services, including knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to banking (ex.KYC, UDAAP and BSA/AML).
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience in compliance, business controls, finance, product management, marketing, or audit.
  • Experience with Financial Service Products.
  • Experience driving complex solutions and analytics to provide ongoing and automated monitoring of key risks.
  • Experience preparing and providing executive-level presentations and analytics.
  • Experience formulating, affecting, interpreting and implementing policies and processes to ensure a strong control environment.
  • Project management experience and solid business acumen.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, problem solving, organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain confidential and complex issues, and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to work proactively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
