Stryker is seeking a talented, results-driven leader for a Director of Business Data Governance opportunity!

What you will do

  • Lead the Master Data Governance team for customer master- including customer people data.

  • Implement the master data governance framework, with a focus on improving data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to behaviors, policies, standards, principles, metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture.

  • Lead a team of professionals and creates a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Foster a culture in the Business Data Governance team focused on all aspects of employee development, including the oversight of goal setting, sharing of best practices, workload balancing, teambuilding, and professional development.

  • Actively engage with Stryker’s SAP global implementation team to drive successful delivery of project and data governance objectives.

  • Partner closely with the Enterprise business process leads and systems implementation organizations to enable efficient and effective end-to-end business processes.

  • Influence key business partners to build consensus, make decisions, and execute plans to implement and support master data standards.

  • Identify and capture of data quality rules and metrics, working with the IT team to implement and data management teams to remediate.

  • Lead the data management teams in the successful implementation and adherence to data standards and data quality metrics.

  • Focus on the development and engagement of talented subject matter experts, building domain competency within the team and across the enterprise.

  • Drive harmonized best practice processes across all divisions and geographies.

  • Participate in M&A activities to assess the impact of master data standards on the integration process for specified domain.

  • Maintain ongoing data stewardship across end-to-end processes after the initial implementation of data governance processes and systems.

What you need

  • Business or IS/IT related bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Corporate business function required.

  • 6+ years of people management and leadership experience.

  • Experience implementing and sustaining data governance programs across a diverse set of data domains.

  • Strong foundation in SAP S/4 Hana and supporting modules, as well as diverse knowledge with regards to multiple ERP platforms (e.g. Oracle, JDE).

  • Demonstrated functional understanding of key processes creating or consuming data within all governed domains and the ability to determine the interrelationships and usage across the enterprise.

  • Well versed in data governance best practices.

  • Strong leadership, communication, collaboration skills and a global, enterprise mindset.

  • Ability to think strategically while operating tactically to implement global data standards and global technical/process solutions.

  • Ability to meet the rigorous deadlines of a growth company; ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, coordinate, and manage multiple projects.

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally in a global matrix structure and influencing peers and stakeholders.

  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues while addressing root cause issues and preventing repeated issue.

  • Previous leadership of highly skilled professionals required.

  • Experience with ERP implementations, data mapping, cleansing, and migration management a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to deliver a common message tailored to the specific audience.

  • CDMP, CIMP or IQCP certifications highly desired.

  • Fluency in English required.
