Field Service Technician – Patient Transport

What you will do

  • As a Field Service Technician, you are responsible for managing a service territory and for the repair and delivery of equipment according to Stryker Medical specifications
  • You will perform all required quality control checks and preventative maintenance, global hold repairs, and wireless upgrades in accordance with the products operation manual.
  • You present the highest level of customer etiquette in support of the sales team and promote increased equipment and service usage by establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships.
  • Must adhere to Field Service metrics; not limited to but including hours and overtime accountability, inventory accuracy, and cadence of documentation, etc.
  • Engage in opportunities to collaborate with internal teammates across the business and assist on Field Service initiatives.
  • Grows the service business in the territory through the selling of service parts, billable labor and travel, and coordinating with sales to identify and close service contracts.
  • Write and present contract proposals to customers and perform product evaluations at the customer's site.

What you need

  • High School diploma required
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess valid driver license in the state of residence with a good driving record as you will operate a company vehicle, while abiding by company policy.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in equipment repair involving mechanical/electrical skills.
  • Ability to explain detailed instruction troubleshooting and inspection procedures
  • Basic electronic and mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness and ability to work an extended work week including nights and weekends at times.

Physical Requirements

  • At times, may be required to move, set up and demonstrate equipment weighing up to 75 pounds (lift unassisted 75-80 pounds), reach, push, or pull in order to accomplish job accountabilities.
  • May involve prolonged periods of stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and/or crawling as appropriate.
  • Coordination of the eye, hand and foot movement with an ability to grasp by hand and meet cognitive demands to include visual and auditory discrimination / memory, reading ability and memory retention
  • May handle various materials including but limited to: durcot fabric, nylon fabric, Velcro, zippers, product components comprised of rubber, metals and coated products.

Mental Requirements

  • Ability to follow and explain detailed instruction troubleshooting and inspection procedures, as well as diagnose issues and systematically solve problems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills specifically relating to stress management, people management and conflict management.
  • Exercise discretion and independence when applying professional expertise
  • Must be able to possess written and oral communication / present to large groups of people
  • Must be able to manage time and bring tasks through to completion with minimal supervision
  • Must have the ability to prioritize work and keep detailed and confidential records
  • Must possess unwavering ethics & integrity in a competitive and demanding work environment
