What you will do

Responsible for providing diagnostic, testing and repair support for all our factory service efforts. Repairs and replaces fabricated parts and assemblies at work stations. Tests, calibrates parts, mechanisms and complex assemblies to meet tolerances and product specifications. Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to assembly / work instructions. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under minimal supervision, requires exercising some independent judgment and provides assistance to new employees.

  • Primary Focus is Diagnosis, Troubleshooting, and Repair Individually; acts as subject matter expert for Stryker-owned assets (Med-Ed, Sales-Ed, R&D, Marketing, and other internal department’s systems)
  • Present team metrics and expose problems using the MDI process. Responsible for driving to root cause and implementing countermeasures.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to improve the new hire onboarding process to increase proficiency and reduce cycle time
  • Assist in coordination of all training within department area, i.e. MDI, Quality, e3 compliance, etc.
  • Perform leader standard work and quality audits within area.
  • Capable of covering all processes within area.
  • Escalates problems/concerns to Lead Technical Representative, Service Engineer, and Management team in a timely manor
  • Electro-mechanical components, assemblies, equipment and machinery such as precision encoders, motors, brakes, instruments, controls robots, machines, etc.
  • Heavy emphasis on testing and troubleshooting overall robotic system and components.
  • Will assist in the identification of improvements in our technical service bulletins, technical service procedures, quality inspection procedures and testing.
  • Assist Service engineers on an as needed basis
  • Performs a variety of complicated technical and non-technical tasks.
  • Identifies Quality & Safety improvements for the Depot Service team & overall company.
  • Upholds the quality policies of the company
  • All employees will be managed through a Depot Service training skill set which could include exams & yearly/bi-annual performance reviews.

What you need

  • 3+ years of work experience required
  • High school education or equivalent & technical certification(s) or continuing education is desired

Additionally, you will need

  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a team-based environment that emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, customer service, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly address issues via counter –measures/trouble-shooting with focus on root cause continuous improvement planning
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work with limited supervision or direction.
  • Ability to work hours in excess of assigned shift (overtime on week nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays) when required by the business and to meet team goals.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, and replace Robotic components
  • Skill sets may include working knowledge of torque hand tools, soldering, pinning & crimping, ESD handling / knowledge & electrical circuit testing, transmission cabling, system testing & system troubleshooting.
  • Broad knowledge of troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to solve problems by identify relevant facts and key issues rapidly
  • Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings
  • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to adapt to technical requirements of assigned area
