What you will do-

You will implement and analyze Lean process improvements to reduce cost and improve efficiencies in partnership with the business. You will perform and evaluate work measurement and workflow analysis for the establishment of standards and the utilization of production facilities. In addition, you will also help to develop plant and equipment layout, capacity plans, workflow, and accident prevention measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of plant facilities. You will also provide product repair instructions and standardize repair practices, as well as evaluate new techniques and technological developments for inclusion in the service repair process.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day production support
  • Identify and implement safety/ergonomic and cycle time improvements
  • Establish manufacturing standards, monitoring actual plant performance and make proposals for improvement
  • Contribute to the training of technicians, team leads and others as required, particularly in new and modified processes
  • Commit to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meet all training and documentation criteria
  • Generate ideas for new repair processes and/or process optimizations and complete small capital projects
  • Propose projects to improve throughput and product quality
  • Estimate cost to analyze return on capital investments
  • Perform process design calculations for new and existing processes
  • Assist in commissioning of new plant equipment and in troubleshooting of existing processes
  • Be accountable for ensuring assigned processes and process changes are compliant and documented in accordance with Stryker procedures and applicable regulations
  • Partner with global service operations, materials, product engineering, and other groups to solve manufacturing and process issues to drive customer satisfaction
  • Provide regular updates on project progress to appropriate personnel, with the ability to plan, organize and implement many concurrent tasks

What You Need-

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required; concentration in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or engineering management -highly preferred
  • 2+ years of related engineering experience required
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, process improvement orientation and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment required
  • Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, hammer, etc.), power tools and test/inspection equipment -highly preferred
  • Experience with mechanical/electrical design and problem-solving skills -preferred
