Position Overview:Eaton Corporations Electrical Sector is seeking a District Sales Manager for our large Northwest District. This includes Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska regions. This role can be based in several locations in the Northwest region.This person will report directly to the Regional Vice-President, West, North America - Global Crouse-Hinds, B-Line, Oil & Gas business. This person will develop and implement the territorys growth strategy, with a focus on product specification, conversion and by gathering voice of the customer for new product development opportunities. The District Sales Manager will be accountable to lead, direct and develop a team of sales representatives, that will have the responsibility of achieving the established sales and margin goals, while managing agents, channel partners and end users.Essential Responsibilities:+ Develops the territory strategy, in alignment with the overall region and business strategy.+ Executes and communicates a compelling strategic value proposition through sales agents, distributors, specifiers, and end users.+ Plans and directs the efforts of the territory sales teams in securing sales volume through conversion and specifying activities.+ Gathers and leverages the voice of customer to recommend new or modified programs to ensure a competitive position is maintained within the market.+ Utilizes negotiation skills to influence and resolve complex problems and influence all stakeholders to drive results.+ Establishes and monitors staff performance and development goals. Sets objectives, establishes priorities, and holds accountable by providing timely coaching and feedback.+ Promotes and emulates a culture that reflects our Eaton Leadership Attributes & Values which includes high performance, inclusion and diversity, continuous improvement, and excellence in quality of work.Position Criteria+ Market knowledge of electrical products and distribution channels+ Strategic planning and profit planning experience.+ Knowledge of sales techniques, customers, customer relations, and personnel development+ Experience of setting aggressive sales plans and achieving ambitious targets and stretch goals.+ Ability and demonstrated experience to identify existing and future growth market opportunities and tailor strategic sales plan and resources to maximize Eatons top-line and market share position.+ Strong customer orientation and focus. Ability to work with all levels of the customer organizations to sell and support products as well as to understand the customers current and future business needs+ Ability to influence and work effectively in a matrix environment+ Experience in developing, motivating, and energizing a diverse team in critical areas of sales planning, negotiation, and customer pursuit+ Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise+ Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker QualificationsBasic Qualifications:+ Minimum of seven years of experience in electrical sales+ Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship+ Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted drivers licensePreferred Qualifications:+ Experience managing direct sales personnelEducation:+ An undergraduate degree is required. A Masters degree is preferredCompensation:+ Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, sales incentive compensation and complete benefitsLocation:+ This role can be based in several locations in the Northwest regionEaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
