Job Description:

Leidos is seeking candidates for an Education Network Coordinator to support the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) located at their HQ in Silver Spring, MD, by working in coordination with designated government leads (normally the government site director and the government lead at DVBIC Headquarters) with all 21 DVBIC Network Sites within the US and overseas.

*this position is contingent upon Leidos being awarded the DVBIC contract

Primary Responsibilities

  • Works directly with the RECs to coordinate TBI education efforts, with a primary focus on provider training, across the network.
  • Assists the government leads to establish standards of performance and metrics.
  • Aggregates data to support computation and analysis of the metrics.
  • Conducts analysis, compiles and presents the metrics to the government leads. Formulates and tracks plans (with milestones) to improve provider education throughout the MHS.
  • Reviews and develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) pertaining to outreach, beneficiary education, DVBIC product promotion and dissemination and other REC-related tasks on an annual basis and updates same as needed.
  • Uses appropriate lines of authority for approval of education activities.
  • Demonstrates accountability for practice through planned and continuous professional growth.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to diverse populations and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • In coordination with government leads, works with RECs to plan local, regional and/or national training events.
  • Provides guidance and outreach to VA, DoD, and civilian populations (healthcare providers, service members, veterans, family members and caregivers) related to TBI.
  • Creates and maintains a core set of information materials related to TBI (to include DVBIC products, training slides and Clinical recommendations/Clinical Support Tools) that RECs will use in the conduct of their duties.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in education or healthcare field required.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience working with DoD/VA/community providers, patients and families with issues pertaining to TBI education and training.
  • Experience in the care of patients with TBI (inpatient, outpatient, or rehabilitation settings).
  • Knowledge of community education and outreach techniques.
  • Basic TBI clinical and policy issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to include writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally (i.e., able to speak in public) and in writing.
  • Interpersonal skills a must.
  • Understanding of DoD and VA clinical networks to identify access points for training and education required.
  • Must be able to mentor subordinates. Ability to manage conflict, build rapport and navigate complex situations leading to a positive outcome required.
  • Must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
  • Must be available to travel locally, regionally, and nationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DVBIC/DHA background in TBI preferred.
