Purpose/Objective of the Job

Acts as a strategic business partner across the US Value Access and Pricing (VAP) organization to provide innovative and flexible training solutions that align Above Brand training strategies, initiatives, and content to BMS organizational goals and (MASA) and Access Marketing (AM) needs to advance field team performance in achieving access objectives.

Primary responsibilities:

Strategy and Business Partnering

  • Partner with senior team leaders and functional partners across a complex matrixed organization, including TT&D, MASA, SOP, Medical, Legal, Compliance, US Commercial Brands and Field Sales to:
    • Identify and prioritize VAP MASA field motivation, knowledge and skill needs, and requirements related to above brand initiatives
    • On-Board new hire MASA field team members
    • Partner with SPM and MASA leadership to provide T&TD input into and or develop field capabilities strategies and training roadmaps for MASA customer facing field teams
    • Liaise with VAP matrix medical team personnel responsible for the learning and development needs of fHEOR, MSL, HSL, CNC teams to ensure synergies exist with MASA

Market Access and Account Management Excellence

  • Focus on above-brand customer strategies, knowledge & customer engagement needs for the following customer segments: Organized Customers, Specialty Pharmacy Providers, Centers of Excellence, Oncology Pathways and Regional and National Payers/PBMs
  • Educate on competitive product changes, marketplace partner dynamics, emergent industry trends and healthcare landscape knowledge related to payers, employers, health systems, closed HMOs, PBMs, Federal Payers, Medicare/Medicaid, Trade, Specialty Pharmacy, Providers, and Patients to determine implications for VAP field teams and to inform VAP T&TD training activity
  • Possess knowledge of patient access journey education, disease state landscape, population health, RWE/HCEI, and account management practices across all BMS therapeutic areas
  • Have deep knowledge and understanding of all customer facing MASA, PASS, fHEOR and field medical matrix team roles and respective responsibilities
  • Maximize team Account Management skills of contract lifecycle management, negotiation skills, and business review delivery
  • Develop team capabilities of complex selling and strategic account management, inclusive of skills related to contract lifecycle management, negotiation skills, business review delivery, powerful storytelling and messaging, and development of business insight such as P&L awareness and ‘gross-to-net’

Training Solution Design, Planning and Management

  • Create short and long term training strategies to identify training needs, prioritize training implementation, develop training in-line with above-brand initiatives and business objectives in collaboration with the cross functional VAP matrix teams and the evaluation of effectiveness of learning experience for the cross functional roles within BMS VAP organization, such as initial account executive training, continuing education of the healthcare landscape, ongoing training of in-line and launch brands and advancing the development of account executive skills
  • Have or be able to quickly develop skills associated with virtual learning and other virtual learning platforms
  • Facilitate learning experiences of any size in both live and virtual settings
  • Work closely within the VAP T&TD to ensure above brand initiatives are incorporated into brand specific learning solutions
  • Responsible for collaborating and coordinating with a team of hybrid AEs responsible for supporting the design, development and facilitation of learning solutions to support the BMS portfolio

Operational Excellence

  • Establish processes to collect and communicate feedback regularly and propose improvements as needed
  • Develop methods to measure the business impact of training activities
  • Proficient in building succinct and visually appealing PowerPoint presentations to communicate to senior leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Master’s or Doctorate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • 2-5 years: recent (within 2 years) relevant commercial experience in the market access space as an account executive/account director and/or Field Reimbursement /PBM /Trade /Federal /Payer/ Health System Director
  • Must have proven experience in identifying market access training needs (i.e., contract negotiations, value communication, stakeholder mapping and population health initiatives), account executive and account development strategies and effectively addressing those needs
  • Demonstrated problem solving and solutions-oriented leader with experience leading, coaching and developing a team required
  • Experience operating in a complex cross-matrix environment and effectively connecting, collaborating and communicating with key matrix team members and senior VAP leadership
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills, including previous experience leading POA and Training Workshops
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Power Point, Excel and Word and other applications
  • Ability to travel for multiple meeting engagements (e.g. Managers Meetings, National Plan of Action Meetings, various Training Initiatives, etc.)
