School of Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy (Pediatrics/Interprofessional) - to perform primary teaching responsibilities in the area of pediatrics and related coursework in clinical education and practice management. The successful candidate will develop and coordinate the School’s interprofessional efforts and serve as School liaison for interprofessional collaborations within the University. Additional co-teaching in areas of expertise may include professional ethics and professional issues. Candidates must have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adjunct faculty and perform other School related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications: Academic doctorate (Ph.D, Ed.D or the equivalent) in a health related field is required. ABPTS certification in pediatric physical therapy is preferred. Candidates must be licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of New Jersey or be eligible for licensure to practice physical therapy in the State of New Jersey. A minimum of two years of teaching experience in an accredited physical therapist education program and a minimum of three years of experience in physical therapist clinical practice are required. Candidates must have a track record of scholarly productivity or demonstrated potential for success in peer-reviewed publications.

This position is a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor effective for the Fall 2023 semester. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Evening hours are required for teaching graduate course assignments. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required, consistent with University guidelines.
