Job Summary

The maintenance job family is responsible for planning, scheduling, and organizing the efficient use of Maintenance resources to minimize disruptions in plant performance due to equipment/component unavailability. Coordinates with various departments to achieve optimum equipment performance and reliability to effectively achieve production improvements through usage of industry standard methodologies.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Maintains training, certifications, and development requirements
  • Ensures all Maintenance personnel training is current for their assigned tasks
  • Notifies supervision of individuals with training coming due
  • Coordinates the scheduling of training for Maintenance individuals
  • Ensures training is correctly assigned based on established requirements
  • Acts as liaison between the Maintenance and Training organizations
  • Understands the Maintenance training requirements and the basis for those requirements
  • Understands the Task – To – Training Matrix and how the different elements are synchronized
  • Facilitates the implementation of DOE O 426.2 for the Maintenance organization
  • Acts as the POC for all the Maintenance Supervisors for training issues
  • Supports Maintenance Training procedure changes when required
  • Evaluates impacts of changes in training requirements
  • Maintains all training requirements within the Maintenance organization
  • Supports the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world’s largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.


Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or economics and 3 years’ experience working inside the Systemic Approach to Training (SAT) process as Training Developer or performing task analysis and Difficulty, Importance and Frequency (DIF) evaluations and 3 years working in a nuclear environment such as Commercial Nuclear, Nuclear Navy or Department Of Energy. Individual must possess knowledge of training fundamentals.

OR

Associates degree in business, engineering, construction management, or economics and 4 years’ experience working inside the Systemic Approach to Training (SAT) process as Training Developer or performing task analysis and Difficulty, Importance and Frequency (DIF) evaluations and 4 years working in a nuclear environment such as Commercial Nuclear, Nuclear Navy or Department Of Energy. Individual must possess knowledge of training fundamentals.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience working inside the Systemic Approach to Training (SAT) process as Training Developer or performing task analysis and Difficulty, Importance and Frequency (DIF) evaluations and 5 years working in a nuclear environment such as Commercial Nuclear, Nuclear Navy or Department Of Energy. Individual must possess knowledge of training fundamentals.

Preferred:

Knowledge of DOE Order 426.2 and DOE Guide to Good Practices for Training is strongly preferred.

Preferred candidate will have at least 8 years working in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy or Commercial Nuclear Industries.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
