Eaton’s AER Aerospace Group division is currently seeking a Sr. Test Engineer. This is a full time role, based at our Los Angeles facility. The Los Angeles facility is a part of Eaton's Aerospace portfolio, and manufactures Hyrdaulic Systems and Components.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $92287.53 - $135355.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

As a Senior Test Engineer you will lead the design and development of test equipment for both commercial and military aerospace products. You will have the opportunity to interact with engineers from all disciplines and learn about the future of aviation while gaining invaluable hands-on experience. Some of the platforms you will be working on include actuation and nose wheel steering systems, both in production and currently being developed. Like the automotive industry, Aerospace is currently in the process of electrification converting to a “more electric aircraft” that will provide significant environmental and cost benefits. In this role you will:

  • Create, modify, deploy, and maintain test equipment HW and SW for Aerospace products.
  • Select components and create bill of materials.
  • Create and update test documentation and drawings
  • Interface with cross-functional development team, program management and customers to ensure overall technical compliance of the equipment. and serves as an expert resource to other engineers.
  • Define test equipment architecture based on required functionality, safety and compliance with ATP requirements.
  • Review project deliverables to ensure accuracy and adherence to schedules and production commitments.
  • Performs design & cost tradeoff studies
  • Write procurement specifications, SOWs, conduct vendor design reviews and vendor liaison. Assist purchasing and quality assurance departments in surveys, vendor selections, product evaluation, production support, and component obsolescence issues.
  • Support proposal bids and risk assessment and mitigation for test equipment development activities

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution with 3+ years of experience or in lieu of a bachelors degree, a HS Diploma and 7+ years of experience in test engineering
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred:

  • Understand requirements and ATP documents.
  • Understanding of ATE documentation and drawings.
  • Ability to understand Mechanical and electrical testing environments.
  • LabView software and National Instruments hardware experience.
  • Programming experience.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows based PC’s and peripherals.
  • Circuit design
  • Project management experience including schedule, technical risk and cost.
