Eatons Fluid Electrical Distribution division, a part of our Aerospace group, is currently seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Camarillo, CA office.Position Overview:The Senior Product Engineer performs project engineering work from design to implementation; communicates expectations, plans, and requirements and coordinates all work within the scope of assigned projects.The incumbent will serve as a consultant, providing technical information and engineering recommendations that assists various projects / processes while effectively contributing towards team goals and influences the work group and works beyond routine nature of tasks utilizing specialized knowledge to support internal and external customers.They will act as the technical leader for large projects or multiple small projects. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Perform conceptual and detail design of electrical connectors and mechanical components used in aerospace and military applications. Uses Eatons Phase-Gate approach to new product development. Works with global, cross functional teams and manufacturing locations to implement and execute new product introduction.+ Manage design history folders and the Product Lifecycle Management system (ENOVIA) for the product line including issuing Engineering Change Orders+ Conduct and/or participate in design reviews, innovation summits, and design bursts+ Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and sales team. This includes leading engineering responsibilities for new proposals, which entails cost, schedule, and technical estimates for executing customer requests.+ Plan and specify product design requirements, as well as detailed validation and verification plans.+ Participate and/or witnesses testing of products.+ Coordinate the prototype manufacturing of products.+ Conduct failure analysis examinations and prepare Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) of findings.+ Represent Engineering in MRB activities+ Develop products using 3D CAD using SolidWorks+ Prepare/review documents including cost estimates (NRE), project schedules, design and instruction specifications, operating manuals, and technical reports.When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university+ Minimum 3 years of mechanical product design experience+ Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future+ This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Camarillo, CA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred qualifications:+ Experience in the design and development of aerospace hold down/release mechanisms or electrical connectors.+ Prior experience in a regulated industry (i.e. aerospace, automotive, medical device)+ Knowledge of PLM systems, i.e. ENOVIA or MatrixOne+ Experience with MRP systems, i.e. SAP+ Working knowledge of Solidworks+ Experience with stress analysis, including finite element modeling+ DFSS Green BeltPosition Criteria:+ Working knowledge of mechanical design principles+ Strong product design ability (Both new product & product modification)+ Advanced knowledge in engineering report and specification writing+ In-depth knowledge of mechanics of materials, statics, and dynamics+ Ability to make recommendations on product designs, strongly influence product costs, and capital investments.+ Ability to lead technical discussions and presentations for internal and external customers, including design reviews, non-advocate reviews and technical coordination meetings.+ Thorough knowledge of product applications, product design techniques, engineering processes, and engineering standards.+ Familiar with government regulations and industry standards on design and operation of aviation ground fueling equipmentWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
