Eatons Fluid Electrical Distribution division, a part of our Aerospace group, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our team! This position is based at our Glenolden, PA office.Position Overview:This role will be an integral part of the team in providing engineering solutions for lubrication system condition monitoring and fluid accessories that comply with customer requirements and quality standards.The Senior Engineer will be responsible for product design, layout, modeling, drawing creation using CAD (Catia, Pro-E, AutoCAD) and configuration control system (Enovia). They will be asked to apply material, finish, machining, casting, assembly, dimensional tolerance and GD&T per industrial standards.The selected candidate will provide technical ownership of a specific product line / focus area by pursuing alternative design approaches and processes while taking market trends and best practices into account. Work with customers to define explicit non-ambiguous requirements.+ Provide technical direction for assigned projects from initial concept phase to product delivery.+ Understand mechanical, electric-mechanical systems and robust design methods.+ Be responsible for concept layout, modeling, detailing, release and change management of drawings in configuration control system. Ensure compliance to quality system requirement.+ Establish technical requirements for fabricated and procured components.+ Select materials, finishes, processes, dimensions and GD&T to meet design intent.+ Work closely with manufacturing engineers, customers, suppliers in creating and releasing component, assembly and model drawings. Visits suppliers and customers as required.+ Perform vibration, thermal, fluid dynamics, tolerance analyses to verify compliance. Uses FEA and manual approaches as required.+ Perform both mechanical and electrical design tasks associated with electromechanical sensors.+ Display knowledge in simple electrical circuit design, component selection, and circuit analysis.Provide hands on support to manufacturing during machining, assembly, and test of prototype and production hardware.+ Have prior Lean Manufacturing and Design for Six Sigma principles.+ Host design reviews with customers on site and off site with the ability to clearly explain and discuss drawings, engineering analyses, and manufacturing processes.+ Maintain responsibility for design verification and validation testing to determine design compliance.+ Support product improvement and cost reduction initiatives by evaluating engineering change requests.+ Support sales and marketing in generation of proposals and responses to customer inquiries.When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution+ Minimum of two (2) years of mechanical product design/product engineering experience+ Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future+ This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Glenolden, PA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred qualifications:+ Prior experience working in a regulated environment (i.e aerospace, automotive, medical device)+ Experience using CAD tools for product design, layout, modeling, and/or drawing creation Catia, Pro-E, or AutoCAD preferred)+ Experience in mechanical design, stress analysis, magnetic properties, seal design, material and process, fluid analysis, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, requirement management, thermal analysis.+ DFSS Green BeltPosition Criteria:+ Working knowledge of mechanical design principles+ Strong product design ability (Both new product & product modification)+ Advanced knowledge in engineering report and specification writing+ Ability to make recommendations on product designs, strongly influence product costs, and capital investments.+ Ability to lead technical discussions and presentations for internal and external customers, including design reviews, non-advocate reviews and technical coordination meetings.+ Thorough knowledge of product applications, product design techniques, engineering processes, and engineering standards.+ Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills+ Ability to work amongst and lead cross-functional teamsWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
