Eatons Marina Power and Light Business is currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Williamsburg, VA facility.Position Overview:The Engineer is responsible for creating 3D and 2D technical manufacturing drawings according to specifications to ensure excellent production of Eaton Marina Power and Light products. This employee will also be responsible for improving storing processes, communication, and information exchange between several different functions.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Create three-dimensional sheet metal drawings using Autodesk Inventor software, converting files to two-dimensional drawings with applicable notes for manufacturing.+ Meet all assigned deadlines for drawings preparation and submittal according to operational requirements for periodic production output.+ Coordinate with other functions (supply chain, quality, OPEX, manufacturing) to align assigned goals and drafting outputs with business needs.+ Help design and draft new product development ideas and prototypes.+ Communicate to, participate in and lead team and individual projects for process improvements to improve excellent manufacture of Marina Power and Light products.+ Balance multiple shifting priorities and expectations as business needs change.When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution+ Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing organization+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:+ Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited institution+ 2-5 years of experience in technical drafting or design in a manufacturing environment+ 2-5 years of experience working with sheet metal design, specification, manufacture or processingPosition Criteria:+ Working knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks or related software+ Knowledge of basic drafting standards for drawing creation+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills+ Excellent attention to detail+ Ability to balance multiple tasks at a time+ Process oriented and drives projects to completion+ Strong written and oral communication skills required.
