Eatons Vehicle Group is looking to hire a Senior Reliability Engineer. This role can sit at our Southfield MI, Galesburg MI or Marshall MI facility.Primary function:This position is responsible for leading comprehensive system reliability and/or safety programs within the Eatons Industrial Sector, focused on supporting Vehicle and eMobility programs. This position is also responsible for driving deployment of new tools and processes within the organization (e.g., Design for Reliability (DfR), Design for Safety (DfS), or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) deployment).Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. Track and report progress on program deliverables and develop recommendations for program gate review decisions.+ Quantify system reliability requirements based on customer wants/needs, and competitive benchmarking information. Allocate reliability requirements to subsystems and components.+ Build system-level reliability models based on system architecture and assessments of component reliability.+ Lead program technical risk management processes including risk logs, boundary diagram, P-Diagram, and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), promoting early identification and resolution of risk based on knowledge of physics of failure.+ Define and manage a system reliability growth plan, leveraging design analysis methods and test methods.+ Lead a Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) process, driving continuous improvement through a statistical problem-solving approach.+ Present reliability program status to internal and external customers.When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited University+ 8+ years of experience in technical role+ 4+ years of experience in advanced (R&D) engineering or new product development programs+ No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) from Galesburg, Southfield or Marshall, MI will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the futurePreferred Qualifications+ Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering from an accredited institution+ Experience with electro-mechanical systems+ Knowledge of vehicle systems (electronics & controls)+ Applied Reliability tools knowledge (P-Diagram, DFMEA, Reliability Demonstration Testing, Accelerated Life Modeling)+ Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Greenbelt certification (Black Belt preferred)Position Criteria+ Demonstrated problem solving skills (8D, RedX, DMAIC Six Sigma)We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
