Eaton located in Raleigh, NC has an opening for a Quality Engineering Director - Digital Solutions.This role will drive the quality engineering transformation for our digital solutions, setting quality standards, process best practices and cutting-edge automation tools for our global quality teams. Eatons digital solutions are based on our asset data insights/analytics and serve key industries like utilities, data centers, buildings and industrial manufacturing.This role will possess a clear vision of the future of quality engineering methodologies for digital solutions primarily comprised of software (applications and a cloud enabled analytics platform).In this role you will:+ Own and be accountable for the test strategy of digital transformation+ Apply and deploy multiple approaches to remove organizational impediments (e.g. cultural barriers, logistic challenges, mindset shifts, etc.,)+ Drive consistency, standardization for process assurance across the product development lifecycle (requirements management, development, functional and system test, release management etc.,)+ Work with internal business and engineering/development stakeholders to ensure Eatons digital solutions are audit ready for our customers and partners+ Design, develop and drive test automation processes, tools and implementation across the digital office and Eaton businesses that have digital/software solutions+ Establish practices for system testing and validation for the digital solutions across Eaton: devices (industrial and electrical equipment, cloud and edge data analytics platform, software applications)+ Dive deeper into current solution/product development processes, identifying current opportunities for process improvement, efficiency/effectiveness and consistency to drive continuous improvement in results+ Promote the principles of quality first early in the solution development lifecycle+ Responsible for leading quality assurance teams for activities like: Designing quality plans, overseeing the execution of quality plans, assessing complex product design, reviewing tests and other complex performance data, analyses market feedback, lead complex root cause analysis and complex quality problem solving+ Leverage global resources by building high performance teams across functions, geographies, time zones, and cultures+ Facilitates communication, cooperation, and collaboration across the organization, including continuous feedback loops for standardization QualificationsBasic Qualifications+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.+ Experience leading a diverse, global software quality engineering team (10+ years)+ Experience with Agile development processes for enterprise software solutions (5+ years)+ Experience with leading the design and set-up of test automation frameworks, processes and tools (10+ years)+ Experience building and leading software testing centers of excellence (3-5 years)Position Criteria:+ Experience performing functional, integration, and system level testing of digital solutions+ Experience maintaining systems for defect tracking, and a custom software repository+ Broad and deep understanding of disciplined product development processes, regulatory, and quality requirements including design control. This includes understanding of phase gate process+ Capability to support processes and digital platforms to be driven across a diversified group of business segments+ Knowledge of new testing applications and tools+ Able to teach and enable team members to use new applications for testing to deploy across Eaton+ Knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management.+ Builds relationships in and outside of engineering to understand, influence, and be their advocate (i.e. with product management, project management, or development)+ Able to navigate in a matrix environment+ Able to manage multiple projects and resolve issues that impact deadlines; able to make decisions quickly under conflicting constraints+ Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers+ Results-oriented and demonstrated record of developing initiatives that impact productivity+ Proactive and solutions-oriented with experience working in ambiguityWe make what matters work.
