Job Description

Our IT team operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities. We collaborate internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help everyone to be more productive and enable innovation.

Leads and drives solution architecture in support of one or more functional areas and product lines for our Manufacturing Division Discovery, Preclinical and Early Development and Discovery organization, while understanding and contributing to the development and refinement of enterprise architecture and influencing application architecture. Role includes :

  • Drive transformation from silo'ed legacy solutions to modern cloud based applications integrated through APIs that support downstream data analytics.

  • Function as trusted advisor to client services leaders, solutions delivery, and product teams.

  • Create, maintain and assume accountability for a culture of high customer service.

  • Drive a culture of collaboration across functional areas and IT teams.

  • Provide thought leadership to functional area program planning, technology, and product strategy as well as inputs into enterprise architecture strategy.

  • Leads/drives vendor, technology, and solution evaluations and make recommendations.

  • Leads/drives solution architecture and contributes to business/information architecture for portfolio programs/projects/products for complex business capabilities across business areas.

  • Contribute to maintaining and evolving current state and future state application landscapes across a complex business/ IT environment.

  • Leads and drives efforts to evaluate solution delivery alternatives, review solutions delivery plans from an architecture perspective, and provide appropriate ongoing guidance.

  • Deliver engaging, informative and well-organized presentations.

  • Contribute to building solution architecture competency and practices.

  • Leads /drives evaluating new technologies and innovation opportunities.

  • Manages contract resources /vendors where required.

Bachelors Degree Required Experience and Skills:

  • 8+ years Experience and a track record of success leading, solution information architecture from concept through solution delivery for enterprise software solutions in laboratory / life sciences R&D functions.

  • Technical thought leadership, sound understanding of the technology trends and a track record of success leading and driving transformation of application landscapes including but not limited to transition from client server to micro services/cloud based solutions, data aggregation and data analytics, application integration, API design and implementation.

  • Familiarity with a wide variety of application, database, hardware infrastructure platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering shared objectives in a matrix organization and global environment, including internal teams and external vendors/ partners.

  • Understanding of IT processes, SDLC methodologies, and knowledge of regulatory landscape, with preference for experience in delivering and supporting validated systems.

  • Experience with managing contractors and vendor relationships.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • BS in scientific domain or computer sciences with work experience in life sciences R&D.

  • Practical experience applying enterprise architecture methodologies such as TOGAF and the Zachman Framework to IT programs as well as use of architecture tool sets (e.g. enterprise architect).

  • Experience with leading design, implementation of GxP/regulated solutions.
