With our extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities and Validation.

The Reliability Engineer will fill a key role at the Elkhorn facility in development and implementation of an Equipment Reliability and Computerized Maintenance Management System. As the subject matter expert in CMMS system administration, the Reliability Engineer will lead the Preventive Maintenance program, Improve Equipment uptime and equipment Meant Time Between Failure Analysts. This individual will be able to perform Work Order Management, Performance Trending, Calibration, and Spare Parts Inventory Management. The position will be responsible for collecting performance actor data, developing predictive techniques, and implementing preventative maintenance programs for the Elkhorn Maintenance Team.

Additionally, the Reliability Engineer will manage the contracted parts crib team. Parts crib management will include development of kitting plans for critical equipment and will ensure fulfillment by through the parts crib. In support of driving quality and safety cultures, the Reliability Engineer will serve as a lead point of contact for Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) tracking and execution for the Engineering and Maintenance Department.

This position will have broad above site involvement as the local representative in our Company Global Reliability platform collaboration, and information sharing team. As a resident expert, the Reliability Engineer will develop and deliver successful training on operating/maintenance best practices for maintenance and operations personnel. The Reliability Engineer will also learn and maintain critical safety related equipment programs including Pressure Safety Device inventory/management, Lockout Tagout, and critical device management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Critical Equipment list, and a Bad Actor list for the site.

  • Assess, measure, track, and report on key reliability indicators for critical equipment systems.

  • Develop Preventive Maintenance procedures for Critical Equipment.

  • Develop and implement Kitting Programs for Critical Equipment.

  • Develop and implement a Predictive Maintenance Program for Critical Equipment.

  • Participate in equipment failure and contamination investigations.

  • Responsible as the CAPA point of contact for the Engineering and Maintenance department.

  • Develop and provide training to Maintenance associates regarding preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Collaborate with the corporate Reliability team to maximize site reliability performance.

  • Responsible as the Change Control point of contact for Utility and Critical Equipment.

  • Develop Lock Out Tag Out procedures for new equipment.

  • Review existing Lock Out Tag Out procedures for compliance with the site standards.

Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • High School diploma

  • Associates degree with a minimum of 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and able to examine an issue from diverse perspectives (safety, compliance, automation, equipment, process, and people) in order to best understand and resolve it at root cause

  • Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering documents, drawings, schematics

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use SAP maintenance software to input data, research parts and analyze repair history detail.

  • Must be able to be exposed to extreme temperatures, outside weather in all conditions, high noise environments, work areas near moving mechanical parts and any chemicals used in production process.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in USDA or similarly regulated manufacturing environment

  • Communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

  • Lean and six sigma skills
