This division is the innovation engine of Novartis, focusing on powerful new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients.<br><br>We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative and curious Principal Scientist to lead the Lentivirus and Hematopoietic Stem Cell (LV-HSC) Engineering Team within NIBR’s Immuno-Oncology & Hematology (IOH) Research Department. <br><br>We are dedicated to innovating the next generation of ex vivo engineered HSC therapies for genetic diseases that can be treated with HSC transplantation. <br><br>As a leader of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, you will lead the design, production and characterization of novel lentiviral vectors for therapeutic use. IOH is a highly dynamic and collaborative drug discovery department that interfaces innovative biology, genome analysis, genetic engineering, gene and cell therapy platforms (including CAR-T therapeutics) with pre-clinical development and translational medicine. The discoveries we make can contribute directly to improving efficacy and accessibility of gene therapies to patients.<br><br>Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<br><br>•You will assume a crucial role in the development of novel therapeutic concepts and will contribute at all stages of a project, from inception, early project validation, optimization, candidate selection and through to early clinical development of novel engineered HSC therapies with a primary focus on designs of lentiviral vectors for clinical use.<br>•You will work collaboratively with other experts to develop project strategy, identify key drug discovery issues, propose and implement creative solutions, execute and guide teams to success and decision points.<br>•You will lead the design of novel lentiviral vectors for therapeutic use leveraging expertise in HIV biology and molecular virology. <br>•You will manage a team of associates.<br><br>[#video#https://youtu.be/B88bPEKkDI4{#400,300#}#/video#]
