The Ashley Corporate team is growing and we are seeking a dynamic, creative, and detail oriented Designer to join our team!

The Ashley HomeStore Store Designer is responsible for independently creating intricate 2D and 3D architectural construction plans and design documents accurately, efficiently, and within deadlines that align with brand objectives. This position may act as a team lead on a number of special projects and retail concepts. In this role you will work to manage project schedules, continuously identify cost-saving opportunities, mentor, train, and provide guidance to other junior level team members on design process and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Create intricate 2D and 3D architectural construction plans and design documents for both interior and exterior retail projects
  • Responsible for schematic design, design development, and completion of detailed construction documents for multiple projects concurrently
  • Independently manage multiple projects at different stages of completion and varying complexity to ensure that deadlines are met. Record and communicate project status to necessary parties
  • Travel to global retail locations and showrooms to lead onsite field verification and documentation to evaluate store condition, renewal state and conduct brand education
  • Travel to global retail locations and showrooms to lead onsite visual merchandising and store set up
  • Cross-train and complete new and varied project types and become a subject matter expert for the company and clientele
  • Prepare and professionally conduct meetings and presentations with internal teams and/or external clients
  • Responsible for reviewing and redlining self-created construction documents to ensure accuracy and quality standards
  • Select and specify materials, finishes, fixtures, and signage. Establish relationships with vendors and create and distribute purchase orders
  • Create and adhere to budget estimates and identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Determine project schedules and manage project completion

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years in an Interior Design or related field, preferably Retail
  • National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification, Preferred
  • Strong knowledge of 3D visualization ability and advanced knowledge of the elements and principles of design
  • Experienced in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Advanced experience in Photoshop, Sketch-up, and InDesign
  • Advanced experience in lighting design
  • Proven ability to create 2D and 3D design drawings and renderings
  • Advanced understanding of architectural details and specifications as used in construction documents
  • Understanding of design and construction costs
