Job Description:

Leidos is looking for a high performing candidate to fill a position supporting the nation's nuclear deterrence mission with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Defense Programs in Systems Engineering on a major weapon acquisition program. Working with a high caliber and collaborative team, this role provides subject matter expertise to the federal program manager and project engineers as well as establishing programmatic liaison with project engineers at the national security laboratories and nuclear weapon production facilities who are engaged in managing technical work to modernize our nuclear weapon stockpile. This position requires an experienced person with demonstrated systems engineering knowledge ideally developed during engagement with Federal and/or Defense agencies.

This is a full-time contractor-support position located on-site in the NNSA offices in Albuquerque, NM.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data analytics, draft, and review technical, programmatic, and budget briefings, white papers, narratives, and other deliverables that are both periodic and ad hoc in nature.

  • Lead, coordination, facilitate, organize, and execute Triannual Program Reviews with Project Teams, Integrated Product Teams, and Product Realization Teams.

  • Manage W80-4 Directory to include internal and external partners at all sites.

  • Manage and maintain collaborative resource on the W80-4 Max.gov website space

  • Analyze and track Gate and Review performance for all components including schedules, package receipt, and Action Items. Provide customer with monthly updates with regard to program health related to Gates and Reviews.

  • Draft analytics based on the Manufacture and Technology Readiness Levels from each Product Realization Team and compile it into a consolidated report for the customer.

  • Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) with Issue paper Actions and Mitigation efforts, ensuring sites are providing timely updates. Provide customer with status updates.

  • Provides program coordination for weapon Engineering Department to sites to address programmatic requirements and inquiries.

  • Facilitates strategic communication of programmatic information within program offices and with internal and external organizations.

  • Provide assistance with the coordination of program meetings, reports, presentations, and other confidential materials.

  • Assists with preparing engineering briefing outlines, assigning tasks to points of contact for section content, cross check gate requirements and products delivered. Reviews and prepares final product for customer delivery.

  • Researches, analyzes, and compiles technical data for products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle.

  • Applies systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design of systems, product development, and track product status from cradle to First Production Unit

  • Assists in the integration of technical, cost, value, risks and specialty engineering considerations into definition of the product. Interfaces with other members of the project or program teams, management, customers and suppliers to meet group, organization and Program objectives.

  • Develops and updates the Rolling Action Item List for senior management team to monitor and track Cross-Integrated Project Team action items - ensuring tasks are delegated appropriately and completed consistently in a timely manner to ensure deadlines, deliverables and key milestones are met.

  • Coordination of activities for the Integrated Product Team and Product Realization Teams across all sites including Sandia National Labs, Los Alamos National Labs, Savannah River Site, Pantex, Lawrence Livermore National Labs, Kansas City, and Y-12.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of experience supporting federal government programs is required.

  • Proficiency in the transition of requirements, interfaces, linkages, and risk mitigation activities associated with program scope.

  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining a positive and productive work relationship with federal customers and fellow contractor staff based on level of expertise, quality of work, personality, communication skills and timely delivery of work products.

  • Demonstrated ability to decompose and communicate Federal Program Requirements.

  • Ability to mentor less experienced staff.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
