Eaton Corporations Research Labs has an opening for an Engineering Intern located in Southfield, MI. Students will start their full-time internship with Eaton in the Summer of 2021 through the start of following school year. The students would have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and on-site mentoring. Essential Responsibilities:+ Develop computational finite element modeling of an additive manufacturing process.+ Prepare and carry out additive manufacturing print jobs.+ Learn and perform engineering analysis and digital simulation leveraging advanced tools (CAD, FEA, statistical tolerance analysis, computational analysis - ABAQUS, etc.).+ Learn and utilize Design for X techniques to drive design optimization. (X = Cost, Manufacturing and Assembly, Six Sigma, etc.).+ Sets aggressive goals, measures performance, and strives to go beyond what is expected. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:+ Actively enrolled in a masters or PhD's degree program with a major in engineering.+ Must have a GPA of a 3.0 or higher (please do not round).+ This position does not offer relocation, candidate must reside within 50 mi of Southfield, MI location.+ Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States, sponsorship is not being authorized. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with finite element modeling and additive manufacturing. Experience with modeling software such as ABAQUS and Alphastar.We make what matters work.
