Eaton is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our Custom Ordering Engineering Team for a 1 year contract. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.This position will work closely with Custom Order Product Specialists; creating/updating as-built ACAD-Electrical drawings, improving/enhancing front end tools (MS Suite). In addition, the position will support on Design Automation project and Mechanical Design team CI activities.Essential Functions:+ Creating/updating ACAD-Electrical drawings and supporting Engineering Department on related activities.+ Assisting with improvements to databases (MS Access) and MS Suite.+ Actively participating in plant wide lean activities.+ Supporting Engineering Department with cost improvements and quality initiatives.+ Complete other duties/projects as required.When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:+ Enrolled and returning to a College or University program (specifically Electrical Engineering 1st, 2nd or 3rd year student).+ 18 years of age by May 1, 2021.+ Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).+ Only candidates living within a 80 km range from our Milton plant will be considered for the role.+ Eaton does not offer sponsorship, only candidates that can legally work in Canada will be considered.Preferred Qualifications:+ Prior internship or co-op experience an asset.+ Previous manufacturing experience in asset.+ Strong customer service focus with a commitment to confidentiality, a high level of professionalism and time management skills.+ Demonstrated ability to work safely, on multiple projects, in a manufacturing environment.+ Good analytical/problem-solving, mathematical skills and troubleshooting ability.+ Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community.+ Exposure to ACAD Electrical and Microsoft applications.+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.+ Passion for innovation & continuous improvement, and willingness to challenge status quo.Eaton has in place accessibility policies for accommodating employees with disabilities.
