This is a role aimed at providing high quality low voltage and high-power electronics design/development with adherence/compliance with Eaton procedures to align with industry standards like Functional Safety standards for Electrical/Electronic systems in Vehicle applications (e.g. IEC61508, CISPR 25, and ISO26262).Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Act as subject matter expert in Electronics with the flexibility to apply their expertise to different product lines within the diverse embedded systems product lines.+ Develop EMI/EMC modeling methods to assess and improve designs for decreased emission reduction and increased immunity+ Collaborate with PCB layout and mechanical packaging teams to ensure best practices including component placement, power planes, ground planes and shielding+ Experience with EMI/EMC development, testing and troubleshooting. Familiar with all industry and automotive/vehicle specific standards. Experience developing EMI/EMC solutions for vehicle power electronics and high power switching environments+ Generates technical solutions and has accountability for the integrity of design solutions on multiple large and small programs+ Drives best practice methodologies for engineering across all groups within eMobility with proven methods & tools and serves as the surrogate customer for quality acceptance of all products & technical deliverables by personally getting involved, designing, teaching, coaching & mentoring.+ Helps engineering teams and managers attain on-time program execution across Industrial Sector for many complex programs with electronics content to ensure programs meets internal and external customer needs via performance requirements and expectations.+ Maintains an awareness of research, trends/industry developments and utilizes domain expertise to drive strategic innovation and technology roadmap activities aligned to current and future customer needs.+ Supports innovation activity around Electronics (includes Power Electronics) to support Eaton Industrial Sector organic growth of revenue year over year. Innovation and Ideation are critical activities to fill the growth funnel with potential growth opportunities.+ Collaborates with customers and anticipates the future based on a deep understanding and familiarity of current technology trends and directions.+ Serves as key technical lead to the Integrated Program Development Team, and to customers on large and complex programs.+ Facilitates and leads root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities through relevant simulation techniques as needed+ Facilitates, Leads or Supports Non-Advocate Reviews across Enterprise-wide programs as taskedWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Physics, Mechanical, etc.) from an accredited institution is required.+ Minimum seven (7) years of experience with new product development specializing in electrical and electronic embedded components and systems and specifically EMI/EMC related design.+ Minimum five (5) years of experience in Automotive or other field requiring high integrity/reliability in harsh environments.Preferred Qualifications:+ Strong background in power electronics and/or RF & electromagnetic theory+ Knowledge about possibilities, limitations of EMC simulation and methodical approach implementation for each investigation.+ Develop EMI/EMC modeling methods to assess and improve designs for decreased emission reduction and increased immunity+ Expert knowledge in RF and 3D field simulation ideally in automotive background and with CST Microwave studio (or) Ansys.+ Ability to find and understand the relevant physical/electro- magnetically effects in a given problem situation.+ Theoretical and hands-on experience in general EMC and RF principles and effects.+ Experience with EMI/EMC development, testing and troubleshooting. Familiar with all industry and automotive/vehicle specific standards. Experience developing EMI/EMC solutions for vehicle power electronics and high power switching environments.+ Exposure to RF measurement techniques using spectrum analyzer, LCR meter, Network analyzer, RF signal generators etc.+ Strong analytical skills covering multiple areas of engineering,+ Ability to identify growth opportunities and nurse them through the Ideation Process or PROLaunch,+ Ability to interact with business and technology leaders,+ High level of creativity and strategic thinking,+ Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence the organization, get results and drive change through others without direct reporting relationship,+ Ability to run Tiger teams and crisis management.+ Broad knowledge of other industries to import best in class ideas,We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
