Eatons is currently seeking a Fabrication & Maintenance Engineering Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Milton, Canada facility.Position Overview:The Fabrication & Maintenance Engineering Specialist will report to the Quality Manager. The Fabrication & Maintenance Engineering Specialist (FMES) will lead key Maintenance processes/initiatives and direct technician & contractor activities to safely & efficiently develop and execute Plant Maintenance Plans for all non-infrastructure equipment/systems. In doing so, the incumbent will ensure that Production/Fabrication, Customer Service, and Continuous Improvement objectives are met, in accordance with safety, quality, and customer requirements. The FMES is also responsible for providing Manufacturing Engineering support to the Fabrication department, leading complex & Capital projects in the development of methods and processes, to optimize utilization of equipment, material flow, and personnel through effective application of Lean Manufacturing tools/techniques.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function, you will:+ Create & implement comprehensive maintenance plans to minimize downtime+ Supervise Maintenance Technician(s) & Contractors to ensure maintenance work orders receive correct priorities, to maximize service levels and OEE+ Deploy, maintain, and continually improve site CMMS to ensure timely completion of all scheduled PMs & MWOs, optimize spare parts inventory, and leverage data/analytics to systematically reduce maintenance costs & downtime+ Working closely with the Quality & Fabrication (Feeder) Managers, develop, schedule and plan Technician capacity to ensure safe, cost-effective, & efficient execution of master Plant Maintenance Plan+ Operationalize & execute site TPM strategy, leveraging technology and open innovation methodology to better predict & prevent downtime, in pursuit of World Class Fabrication objectives+ Create and maintain Downtime Risk Assessments (eFMEA) for each Machine, systematically driving YOY risk reduction through skillful application of ELSS & EQMS functional competencies and Industry 4.0 / technical solutions+ Systematically drive YOY EHS risk reduction through ownership of the Maintenance Workstation Risk Assessment+ Drive activities to reduce cost of maintenance and overtime costs while meeting quality & safety objectives.+ Manage Maintenance projects (Capital & Expense), leading a cross-functional team to identify & mitigate risks, ensuring attainment of project objectives+ Determine manufacturing methods and machine or line loading to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders requiring extensive planning consistent with overall division objectives+ Lead and/or provide support for process design, development, and improvement activities+ Instruct and train manufacturing personnel on new or revised manufacturing methods and equipment+ Support Lean, Six Sigma, and PROLaunch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and EHS Workstation Risk Assessment for the Fabrication department+ Estimate & optimize time required to manufacture all parts for a product line or a section based on the most economical methods developed through manufacturing planning in conjunction with methods, tools, work, plant layouts, and design engineering+ Identification, approval and implementation of cost reduction submissions+ Recommend replacements & dispositions of equipment/facilities for a given area and maintain applicable records+ Performing Ergonomic assessments and recommend/complete actions to reduce risk levels (RPN)+ Champion execution of PROLaunch projects & new product/systems implementations on behalf of Milton, liaising with CED and other cross-functional team members+ Provide 3D-Modelling (Inventor) and MetaCAM (backup) programming support, as required+ Perform other duties as required.When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Technology from an accredited institution+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, and/or maintenance engineering+ Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 80 km radius of Milton, Canada will be considered.
