Eatons Vehicle Group is currently seeking an Embedded Electronics Engineering Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Southfield, MI or Marshall, MI facility.Position Overview:This position will support the Industrial Sector, Software Electronics Controls Center of Excellence (SwEC CoE). The primary function of the Embedded Electronics Engineering Specialist is to participate in the development and application of electronic ECU Control Systems within automotive vehicle systems. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Lead and define requirements analysis, hardware specification, design, analysis, supplier management, integration, testing and validation of embedded real-time control systems.+ Lead and define Embedded systems architecture designs and microcontroller selection decisions including FUSA evaluations and Cyber Security considerations.+ Lead circuit designs and specify/define input and output circuitry between a micro controller and vehicle sensors and actuators.+ Selecting and working with suppliers, internal laboratories, and customers to ensure the successful completion of Product Development and Validation DV testing+ Deploy failure investigations and lead root cause analysis for both current products and new products in development+ Initiate reliability analysis and risk management of electrical subsystem components using tools such as Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Failure Reporting & Corrective Action Systems+ Evaluation of new technology sensors, actuators and other electronic products+ Identification and implementation of product cost reduction and reliability improvements+ Technical project planning and management from concept phase through production releaseWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university is required.+ Minimum of seven (7) years of engineering experience+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of Southfield, MI or Marshall, MI. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:+ Advanced Degree Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering+ Experience with Automotive embedded control systems especially electric/hybrid vehicle+ Experience in requirements processes, writing specifications, and development of vehicle electrical system, electronic control units, sensors and actuators+ Experience in the design, integration, and testing of embedded real-time systems+ Experience with 32 bit embedded microprocessor control units preferably the Renesas RH850 family or Infineon Product Portfolio+ Control System understanding and deployment+ Demonstrated strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills+ Foundational knowledge of embedded controllers and power electronics+ Data acquisition systems, such as IMC or ETAS.+ Control algorithm development in Matlab/Simulink/RTW+ Schematic capture and simulation with Cadence ORCAD, PSPICE simulation+ Understanding of Power Electronics Fundamentals+ Knowledge of micro-controller hardware architecture+ Experience with working of ADC, GPIO, DMA, Interrupts, Timers/Counters+ Working knowledge of vehicle communication protocols like CAN, LIN, SENT, SPI etc.+ Working knowledge of CAN communication analyzer tools (e.g. CANalyzer and CANape)+ Experience with embedded C+ Experience with microcontroller-based projects (From selection to application of micro)+ Knowledge of topics/standards like AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, functional safety, cyber security+ Knowledge of embedded software architecture (MCAL, ASW, BSE, RTE)+ Knowledge of lab equipment like oscilloscope, signal analyzer etc.+ Knowledge on Hardware Security Module is Highly preferredWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
