We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, who are collaborative team players, who deliver on their commitments, who are innovators in search of a better way, and who believe in inclusion.Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us _Feed the Future,_ and grow your career.This position reports to the Director, Technology & Innovation.**This is a eight month work term beginning in September, 2021.****What you will do:**+ Support the management of change process by assisting with process design and documentation+ Provide process engineering support to complete recommendations from process hazard analysis+ Assist senior specialists in detailed technical evaluations such as catalyst, heat exchanger and compressor performance+ Provide process engineering support to capital project development and design+ Complete levelappropriate engineering studies, calculations, and/or modeling and simulation of chemical processes+ Provide technical support to automated process monitoring applications+ Collect data and develop an electronic process information database+ Work under the direction of a licensed professional engineer who will take responsibility for the work products+ Complete basic technical reports, analysis, and transactions by applying subject matter knowledge related to a Chemical or Process engineering typical of a professional engineer+ Some field time in an operating unit, and at times will required some climbing stairs, ladders and walking through plant operating areas+ Travel, if required will likely be by car to various sites in Alberta**What you will bring:**+ Engineering co-op student pursuing a degree in chemical engineering; preference is for work terms 4 and 5+ Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills+ Ability to climb stairs and ladders, sit for long periods of time, and perform many job duties remotely using phone and email+ Ability to provide creative and well thought out solutions to chemical/process engineering challenges, as assigned+ Ability to organize, coordinate and accomplish multiple tasks+ Knowledge in P&ID use and interpretation, piping flow and hydraulic calculations, pressure relief valve codes and standards, control valve design and simple instrumentation and control loop basics is an asset+ Experience working with API Pressure Relief standards is an asset+ Knowledge of pipe sizing and experience with piping design is an asset**Are you a good match?
