Ensure work in completedwithin Industry Standards and with-in Regulatory Compliance.Responsible for identifying, investigating, and finding solutions to process opportunities for improved productivity, reliability, environmental and safety performance. Provides oversight of staff in formulating and executing specific process changes or improvements while meeting budget constraints.**What you will do:**+ Promote and actively participate in Behavioral Safety Process and Environmental Stewardship activities.+ Work with Area Team members and in partnership with Area Operations Manager to accomplish plantobjectives in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Quality, Reliability, Production, Efficiency, Cost Reduction, and Innovation.+ Perform and initiate engineering and technical studies to troubleshoot known plant problems, predict impending problems and to optimize plant operations in the above priority areas.+ Perform and contribute to thorough process reviews such as Hazard and Operability Studies (Hazops) and "What If' analyses on current operations and on proposed changes to plant equipment, processes, and systems via the plant Process Safety Management of Change (MOC) process.+ Closely monitor real time and historical plant data from log sheets, data historian, lab analysis, walk through, etc. to detect abnormalities and to optimize plant operations.+ Track and report compressor, turbine, and pump exchanger efficiencies.+ Perform pressure drop surveys and catalyst evaluations.+ Interact with operators and shift supervisors to learn and share knowledge of the plant operations and to meld "reality' with "theoretical".+ Closely monitor quality of raw materials, process chemicals, catalysts, finished products and water treatment processes.+ Perform and contribute to Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and incident investigations and completes assigned action items on schedule.+ Perform and facilitate training for operations personnel as needed.+ Ensure that Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P & ID's), Steam Balances and Standard Operating Procedures are complete and up to date.+ Promote and contribute to successful implementation of projects by providing accurate, timely and thorough design input / design review and by facilitating close coordination and communications with area personnel.+ Perform month-end prill inventory checks and lost tons / reliability reports.+ Perform detailed heat and material balances+ Perform hydraulic calculations+ Promote and contribute to site Manufacturing Excellence and Operations Driven Reliability (ODR) processes.+ Identify and facilitate implementation of production, reliability, efficiency, and cost improvement opportunities.+ Research and evaluate industry technology advancements, other plant experiences and innovative ideas.+ Develop and maintain networks with other PCS and Nitrogen industry plants.+ Perform special studies and projects as directed by the Engineering Manager.+ Ensure proper loading of vessels during catalyst, desiccant, packing and gauze changes.+ Provide oversight for coordination of precious metals handling and recovery.+ All other duties as assigned.**What you will bring:**+ Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering.+ Minimum 10+ years experience in the chemical process industry.+ Knowledge and Experience with simulation software, heat and material balancing and hydraulic calculations+ Experience with catalyst performance and life cycle management+ Knowledge of 6-sigma or other optimization methodology will be an asset+ Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards and its insurers.+ Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration).+ Ability to effectively communicate, orally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, in English with coworkers, contractors, government officials and Senior Management.+ Ability to read and understand written material (in English), including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations, safety rules and operations instructional guides and procedures manuals.+ Must be able to deal effectively with people and resolve conflicts and problems.+ Must possess management/supervisory skills and be able to effectively manage employees and contractors.+ Must possess well developed interpersonal skills to manage, lead, and direct personnel.+ Able to organize and prioritize multiple projects and adjust quickly as needed.+ Ability to accept direction and work effectively & cooperatively with other people.+ Must have intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point).+ Must possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with both company and contract employees.+ Must be goal orientated, self-motivated and able to work independently.+ Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.**Are you a good match?
