Do it here.What youll be doing...This internship position which is part of the Verizon Campus Program will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm while learning from the best minds in the industry. Youll be front and center, hands-on, and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive through the course of this 10-week experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects within the Global Technology Solutions Organization that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program.As a Network Engineering and Operations Intern, you may have the opportunity to:+ Support Wireless Field Network Assurance Organization and Wireline Network Organization.+ Participate in on-going operation and maintenance of the voice, data, 4G LTE & 5G wireless networks.+ Work on the proper operation of a large group of Network Elements. Duties in support of interdepartmental objectives include preventative and remedial maintenance, installation, optimization, building upkeep, and integration of network hardware and interconnect facilities.+ Partner with the Wireless Field Network Assurance Organization Field or switch command line entry, scripting.+ Transport ethernet and fiber testing.+ Support interdepartmental objectives including preventative and remedial maintenance, installation, optimization, building upkeep, and integration of network hardware and interconnect facilities.+ Assist with on-going operation and maintenance of the voice, data, 4G LTE & 5G wireless networks.+ Our 2021 summer internship program will be virtual, however the posted Verizon location will be your assigned work location.You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and in good academic standing to be considered.If you are interested in other roles and locations in addition to this one, please submit your application to those postings as well in order to be considered.What were looking for...Youre a motivated self-starter. Learning quickly is personally rewarding and inspires you to take smart risks.Youll need to have:+ Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters degree program at Texas Souther Universityin Computer Science, Computer Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Machine Learning, Security, or related major with an expected completion date between December 2022 and June 2024.+ Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.+ A valid U.S. drivers license.+ Willingness toalign to Verizon'sBloomington, MN location (the internship program will be virtual, however the posted location with be your assigned office location)Even better if you have:+ Demonstrated strong analytical skills, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.+ Knowledge of IT, data analytics, systems performance, programming, project management, telecommunications, scripting & coding, PC and software knowledge.+ Experience call processing (origination, handoffs), data networking (switching/routing, TCP/IP).
