Associate Specialist, Engineering Automation

With our extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities and Validation.
Position Description:
The Associate Specialist Manufacturing Automation will be accountable for assisting the manufacturing automation systems in the Barrier Formulation and Filling Operations at the West Point, PA site including the following:
Duties:
Troubleshooting equipment / automation issues to improve manufacturing performance (e.g. yield improvements, etc.)
Maintaining the automation systems in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
Providing assistance as a representative of an existing production team, providing technical assistance in fulfilling the automation requisites for the team.
Reviewing automation documents, preventive maintenance, and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and safety.
Developing and promoting corrective actions for investigations related to automation or IT systems.
Using technical knowledge to assure the efficient operation of variety of automated processing and information technology systems.
Participating in audits and training programs.
Providing on-floor sponsorship of manufacturing activities.
Generating and implementing change controls to meet the needs of the facility.
Other:
Standard Operating Procedure development and review.
Direct assistance of regulatory inspections and audits.
Direct assistance of validation activities and all other associated Quality functions.
Other duties requested by Management.
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Information Technology or other relevant discipline
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Skilled in PLCs, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, DCSs, Manufacturing Execution System, Batch Operations (S88/S95), IT, and OEM equipment
