Job Summary
The Defense & Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Project Lead with a DoD Top Secret Clearance at the Second Generation FLIR Software Engineering Environment at Aberdeen Proving Ground. This position will support the CECOM Software Engineering Center contract performing Post Production Software Sustainment for the Terrestrial Sensors Software Branch (TSSB).
This position will report to the Leidos KX06 Program Manager in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. A successful candidate will possess advanced knowledge and skills in embedded software engineering and Post Production Software Sustainment. The SGF Lead will manage a small team consisting of new and experienced software, test, and firmware engineers performing software sustainment on the Second Generation FLIR and LRAS3 systems.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and defend the annual software engineering IMS for performing embedded software engineering on the SGF operating system software update
Manage the activities of the SGF and assigned LRAS3 software engineers.
Provide weekly and monthly reporting of SGF and LRAS3 (as needed) activities for Weekly Project Status Meetings, Weekly Activity Reports, and Monthly/Yearly CDRL submissions
Coordinate activities among the engineering, testing, and configuration management personnel, Program and Product Manager sponsors, and external testing organizations for validating operation of the SGF software
Perform all hiring and personnel management functions for the contractor personnel supporting the SGF and LRAS3 engineering teams (up to 5 personnel)
Basic Qualifications
- Must possess a DoD Top Secret clearance
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline
- A candidate should possess 12+ years of related experience with 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects
- Ability to write position descriptions, evaluate candidates, perform interviews, and provide primary input for hiring, firing, promotion, performance and rewards decisions for direct reports
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, Software Engineering Center requirements and best practices, and software design and coding requirements
- Ability to develop and edit software engineering documentation, CCB briefings, Test Readiness Reviews, and provide software change request analysis
- Ability to develop and sustain a Software Engineering Environment

- Understanding of US DoD Biometric, ISR, and SIGINT Systems
